Dermal Fillers
Table of contents
A youthful face is defined by its volume and elasticity with notable smooth contours and plump skin. However, as we age volume loss occurs naturally resulting in sunken features, wrinkles, and a loss of definition. At Skyn Remedy we offer a variety of dermal fillers that can help to restore volume and create a more youthful appearance. Whether you’re looking to enhance your lips, cheeks, or jawline, we have a treatment that can help.
What are fillers made of? Are they safe?
Fillers are made of hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a sugar protein our body naturally makes. Each molecule holds 1000x water weight giving hydration and plumping effects to our skin. Our natural HA starts to deplete after the age of 25 gradually losing facial volume resulting in saggier skin and unwanted skin folds. Injecting safe HA into the face helps restore lost facial volume to achieve face lifting, anti-aging, and an overall aesthetically pleasing facial contour.

How long does it take to recover from fillers?
There is no given downtime related to a filler appointment. We recommend you do not consume alcohol immediately after the treatment and follow post-filler follow-up directions. Bruising and swelling are all normal post filler treatments. Sudden and major pain is not normal and it is urgent to reach your provider if this is the case.
How long do fillers last?
You will notice full effects of the filler anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks time. The results of dermal filler treatments are long-lasting but several factors can affect how visible the results are and how long they last. The results will last for six months to a year in most cases. However, skin can lose more volume over time making the filler look less noticeable. Additionally, lifestyle choices such as smoking and exposure to sunlight can cause filler to break down quicker.
As a result, it is essential to follow all post-treatment instructions and avoid activities that may shorten the lifespan of the filler.
